CONTOURA® LASIK in Colorado

About CONTOURA® LASIK

What Is CONTOURA® Eye Surgery?

CONTOURA® Eye Surgery, also known as CONTOURA® Vision, is an advanced refractive surgical procedure designed to correct vision problems such as nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism. This innovative technique utilizes cutting-edge wavefront technology to create a personalized treatment plan for each patient, unlike traditional LASIK surgery, which often relies on a one-size-fits-all approach. CONTOURA® Eye Surgery takes into account the unique topography of the cornea at a scale not achievable only a few years ago. This individualized method aims to enhance visual outcomes, reduce dependency on glasses and contact lenses, and improves overall quality of vision.
How It Works

What Makes CONTOURA® Different?

CONTOURA® relies on the most advanced diagnostic testing of an individual’s corneal surface available so that the identification irregularities and aberrations can be identified down to microscopic levels. This detailed mapping generates a 3D profile based upon 4 scans and 88,000 points across your eyes. This means every patient has a truly custom procedure which includes the minimal cornea alternation and maximum results. In fact, 2 out of 3 patients based upon clinical studies emerge with better than 20/20.

During the surgery, a specialized excimer laser is used to reshape the cornea based on the individualized treatment plan generated from the corneal mapping. The procedure is typically quick, lasting less than 15 minutes. It is typically performed painlessly at an in office suite and most patients can return to work after one day.

1

Step 1

Anesthetic eye drops are administered to numb your eyes. A lid speculum is used to keep your eyes open.
2

Step 2

Your doctor creates a thin corneal flap using a laser to allow access to the underlying corneal tissue. We have invested in iFS® femtosecond laser technology for this step.
3

Step 3

A laser is used to reshape your cornea according to your unique refractive error. Only minuscule amounts of corneal tissue need to be removed in most cases.
4

Step 4

When the procedure is finished, the flap is positioned back in place where it will heal quickly without the need for stitches.
